What is vulnerability? Vulnerability, it could be you too
On International Women’s Day 2026, Fundación Adecco aims to raise awareness about the vulnerabilities women face in Spain.
In an effort to bridge this reality with the business community, public administrations, and society at large, we are unveiling an audiovisual piece titled “It could be you too”, inspired by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer’s Rima XXI.
The main character highlights everyday challenges encountered by many women who do not see themselves as vulnerable, including issues like work-life balance, gender violence, unemployment in later years, and discrimination.
Sustainable employment on International Women’s Day 2026
At Fundación Adecco, we advocate for the significance of sustainable employment in addressing circumstances of vulnerability. We recognize that this can only be achieved through the collective efforts and talents of individuals, corporate responsibility, and the active engagement of society as a whole.
Women in vulnerable situations continue to encounter significant obstacles in gaining access to decent and stable employment. Overcoming these barriers depends on a job market where equal opportunities are a daily reality, turning potential into talent.
When a woman is provided with the opportunity to showcase her talents, the resulting impact is significantly amplified.

Working Women’s Day at Fundación Adecco
In 2025, Fundación Adecco’s programme supported 5,191 women affected by gender-based violence. These women, who are the sole providers for their families or at risk of social exclusion, received assistance.
Throughout the process, they received support in defining their professional goals, considering the current job market, and took part in guidance, training in high-demand sectors, and employment placement initiatives.
As a result, 1,290 women secured jobs, and ongoing efforts aim to enhance the employability of the remaining women and support their future entry into the workforce.

Our Vulnerability Observatory finds that women in vulnerable situations see employment and psychological support as the primary means for progress. However, just 3 out of 10 believe they can access sustainable employment in the near term, highlighting the fragility of their connection to the job market.
This situation is further worsened for women with disabilities, women over 45 who are long-term unemployed, women who are the sole caregivers for their families, and victims of gender-based violence. 95% cite employment as the main factor in reversing their situation and improving their living conditions.
